Feeling stuck? Tips to Stay Productive

It’s that time of year when the “new year new me” momentum is fading. We begin to forget our resolutions, move slower, and our productivity almost feels nonexistent. Whether it's our personal goals or work tasks, maintaining productivity can be difficult. In our See What I Mean team meeting, we took the time to share tips, tricks, or moments that have helped us stay productive and energized at work.

If you are feeling stuck check out this list provided by our team:

Clean out your tabs: exit out of all the extra tabs on your desktop. Try to only have the tabs open for the project you are working on.

Turn off email notifications: if you catch yourself jumping from task to task and not having enough time for deep work, turn off your email notifications. This will lessen the likelihood of you switching to a new task every time you get a new email.

Get some movement: take a break and get some exercise. Staying active throughout the day helps us from being in a slump and increases our productivity.

Turn on the light: work by a window or in a bright place. I was guilty of working in the darkest corner of the office, but changing my atmosphere and working by a window with a view has helped with my energy throughout the day.

Note it: do you find yourself jumping to another project mid-task? When you think of something new, jot the thought down on an index card as a "save for later" topic. Check on your index cards when you finish a task and are looking to see what is next.

Start your day slowly: before you jump into work take it slow. Sometimes it is helpful to keep a journal and reflect on the day before it starts.

Drink water: unlimited coffee is tempting, but don't forget to drink more water too!
